Anxiety is a natural response to stress, and everyone will experience the feeling at some point in their life. For some these feelings are normal and manageable but for others anxiety can be become overwhelming and uncontrollable and can start to negatively affect daily life. Anxiety can happen in episodes or be a long-term condition to manage.

Anxiety can be triggered by a big event, or a build up of stressful situations in life and it has also been recognised that some people are more likely to have anxiety disorders based on genetic factors or other events such as past trauma.

We have a thorough assessment process where one of our experienced therapist will spend time getting to know you, understand historical issues and past treatments. With guidance consider your therapy goals and then look at the anxiety treatment options available.

Screen For Other Mental Health Conditions

Making sure we offer you the best possible treatment

After the initial assessment in a subsequent appointment we can carry out a more detailed screening for specific mental health conditions or Autism Spectrum Disorder. In depth screenings are carried out on request usually but may sometimes we recommended based on the assessment outcomes.

Short Term Therapeutic Interventions

Strategies to manage anxiety & emotions

We can assist with helping you to build strategies to manage your anxiety, this is often CBT or Mindfulness based skills. Your therapist will also assist with problem solving any difficult circumstances, helping you to move forward and reach the goals you identify.

Long Term Therapy

Explore past trauma or issues in a safe environment

With longer term therapy, as well as learning strategies to manage anxiety and problem solving. You will also be able to explore underlying causes or past trauma. During this process you and your therapist will work together to create a feeling of safety and stabilisation in your life.

Family Support

Building strong and healthy relationships

It may be that supporting your family members would be helpful for your own mental health. It can be helping them to understand your condition and them also learning strategies to help assist you. Your therapist will also be able to help both you and family memebers address any communication problems or interpersonal conflict.

What Would You Like To Know?

We aim to see you within 48 hours for the initial appointment. This will help us to understand your needs and allocate the right therapist for you.
Many people see their therapist weekly but equally we have many people that require more intensive support, and we accommodate the needs of each individual.
The initial appointment is approximately 2 hours, and the cost is between £200 and £250 depending on who you book with. After this, the cost per session ranges from £75 to £125.
We offer a high level of confidentiality and will not contact others without your consent. The exceptions to this are if you are at imminent risk to yourself or another person. We will go through this with you in more detail but please be reassured that our aim is to keep your confidence.
